Biography:
Divine, often billed as "The Filthiest Person Alive," was the stage persona of Harris Glenn Milstead (October 19, 1945 – March 7, 1988). He gained notoriety through his collaboration with filmmaker John Waters.
Divine's first on-screen appearance was in Waters' short film *Roman Candles* in 1966. However, Divine achieved wider recognition for his roles in Waters' subsequent films, embodying deliberately shocking and grotesque characters.
He is best known for his role in the 1972 film *Pink Flamingos*, playing Babs Johnson, a woman vying for the title of "The Filthiest Person Alive". Divine's performance became iconic, solidifying his status as a counter-culture icon and a figure in queer cinema.
