Castiel is a prominent character in the American fantasy horror television series, Supernatural, primarily portrayed by Misha Collins. He is introduced in the fourth season as a powerful angel of the Lord.
Initially, Castiel is tasked with raising Dean Winchester from Hell and preventing Lilith from breaking the 66 seals that would release Lucifer. Obedient to Heaven, he possesses a human vessel named Jimmy Novak to carry out his duties.
