Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is a British politician, writer, and broadcaster. He served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2019 to 2022.
Born in New York City in 1964, Johnson was educated at Eton College and Balliol College, Oxford, where he studied Classics. He began his career in journalism, working for The Times and The Daily Telegraph.
Johnson entered politics in 2001, becoming the Member of Parliament (MP) for Henley. He later served as the Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. A prominent figure in the Leave campaign during the 2016 EU referendum, he became Prime Minister following Theresa May's resignation.
His premiership was marked by Brexit, the COVID-19 pandemic, and various controversies. He resigned as Prime Minister in July 2022.
