Bob Stookey, portrayed by Lawrence Gilliard Jr., is a character in AMC's television series, The Walking Dead. He is a former army medic struggling with alcoholism and haunted by his past. Bob first appears in the season episode "Isolation".
Prior to joining the main group, Bob was a lone survivor, haunted by a past in which everyone he had befriended met a tragic end. This history fueled his reliance on alcohol as a coping mechanism.
He eventually finds acceptance and purpose within Daryl Dixon and Glenn Rhee's group, using his medical knowledge to assist in their survival. However, his struggles with addiction continue to present challenges.
