Cornelius Fudge is the Minister for Magic in the Harry Potter universe, first appearing in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets movie. He is portrayed as a portly man, usually seen wearing pinstriped robes and a bowler hat.
Initially, Fudge appears as a well-meaning, if somewhat fussy, leader. He is eager to maintain stability within the wizarding world and often dismisses events that threaten the status quo, such as Voldemort's return, preferring to maintain his own power and popularity. He relies heavily on the advice of others, sometimes to his detriment.
