Biography:
The Chitauri, as presented in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), are a cybernetically enhanced alien race acting as a foot soldier army. They are not a singular species but rather a collection of various races integrated into a hive-mind structure, serving a greater power.
They first appeared in the MCU in The Avengers Movie (2012), where they were used by Loki as part of his plan to conquer Earth. They poured through a portal above Stark Tower, engaging Earth's heroes in a large-scale battle of New York.
Later, they were involved in Avengers: Endgame (2019), seen in the past when Thanos invaded Earth. This army, largely defeated, has been shown to be a powerful intergalactic threat.
