Winston, designated "BigFig" prior to joining Overwatch, is a brilliant scientist and genetically engineered gorilla. He was raised in the Horizon Lunar Colony, a scientific research facility on the moon.
Experimentation enhanced Winston's intelligence and physique. The colony's collapse, triggered by a rebellion among the other gorillas, led to his escape to Earth in a makeshift rocket.
