Barney Rubble is a fictional character featured in the animated television series The Flintstones, which aired from 1960 to 1966. He is the diminutive, blond-haired best friend and next-door neighbor of Fred Flintstone.

Barney is the husband of Betty Rubble and, later in the series, the adoptive father of Bamm-Bamm Rubble, a child of prodigious strength. He works alongside Fred at the Slate Rock and Gravel Company, though often in less physically demanding roles.
