Robocon is a fictional character from the Japanese tokusatsu (special effects) comedy television series Ganbare!! Robocon, which aired from 1974 to 1977.
He is a red, clumsy, but well-intentioned robot student attending Robot Gakuen (Robot Academy), led by the stern but fair Teacher Gan. Robocon aspires to earn 100 points for good deeds, judged by Teacher Gan. However, his efforts often result in comical chaos and destruction, typically resulting in low scores.
Created by Shotaro Ishinomori, Robocon is designed to be endearing despite his ineptitude. He embodies themes of perseverance, friendship, and the value of trying one's best, even in the face of repeated failure.
