Biography:
Jessie is a major character introduced in the Disney/Pixar animated film *Toy Story 2* (1999). She is a vintage pull-string cowgirl doll with bright red hair and a cheerful disposition, though initially burdened by past abandonment issues.
Originally part of Woody's Roundup Gang, a popular television show from the 1950s, Jessie was beloved by her owner, Emily. However, as Emily grew older, she lost interest in Jessie and eventually donated her, causing Jessie to develop a fear of abandonment and confinement.
In *Toy Story 2*, Jessie is found by Al McWhiggin, who plans to sell her and the other Roundup toys to a museum in Japan. Woody, initially intending to return to Andy, is drawn to Jessie and her friends, ultimately helping her overcome her fears and encouraging her to embrace a new life with Andy and the rest of the toys.
