Dum-E is a fictional robot character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), primarily associated with Tony Stark/Iron Man. He is one of Stark's earliest robotic creations, built while Stark was a teenager.

Dum-E, sometimes referred to as "Butterfingers," is a large, clunky robot arm with limited mobility. Despite lacking sophisticated AI, Dum-E possesses a rudimentary form of artificial intelligence and demonstrates a surprising level of loyalty and affection for Stark. He is often seen assisting Stark in his workshop, albeit often with comically disastrous results, hence the nickname.

Dum-E's primary function is as a lab assistant, though his propensity for dropping tools and making mistakes provides comic relief. However, on occasion, Dum-E's assistance has proven crucial, notably during moments of crisis where he's managed to help Stark despite his limitations.

Though not a central character, Dum-E has appeared in several Iron Man films and is a recognizable and beloved part of the Iron Man mythos, representing Stark's beginnings and his enduring capacity for creating and caring for even his most imperfect creations.
