Nereus is a character in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), appearing in the film *Aquaman* (2018). He is the king of Xebel, one of the seven underwater kingdoms of Atlantis.

Played by Dolph Lundgren, Nereus is initially allied with King Orm Marius in his plot to unite the kingdoms and wage war on the surface world.

Nereus is also the father of Mera. After witnessing Orm's ruthlessness and Arthur Curry's strength, he eventually switches his allegiance to Aquaman, contributing to the defeat of Orm.
