Gordon Freeman, a theoretical physicist, is the protagonist of the acclaimed video game series Half-Life. His first appearance was in the original Half-Life, released in 1998.
Freeman earned his Ph.D. from the University of Innsbruck, Austria, specializing in theoretical physics with a focus on quantum teleportation and relativistic field theory. Prior to the events of Half-Life, he joined the Black Mesa Research Facility, a secretive government-funded complex, to work on experimental research.
During a high-stakes experiment involving alien materials, a "resonance cascade" occurs, opening a dimensional rift and unleashing hostile creatures upon the facility. Freeman, armed with only a HEV Suit, must navigate the chaos and confront the invading alien forces, ultimately becoming humanity's unlikely savior.
