Biography:
Silhouette, born Ursula Zandt, is a fictional character in the DC Comics universe, primarily associated with the Milestone Comics imprint. She debuted in Static #1.
Ursula, along with her brother, Hardware (Curtis Metcalf), were prodigies. Ursula, however, struggled with her parents' expectations and the perceived pressure to conform. She came out as a lesbian in her teens and was kicked out of the house.
Ursula eventually developed the power to manipulate shadows after the Big Bang event in Dakota City. Using her newfound abilities, she operated as a vigilante, becoming a skilled and effective crime fighter.
Tragically, Silhouette's career was cut short when she was fatally shot by the villain Holocaust during a confrontation. Her death served as a catalyst for several storylines within the Milestone Universe, particularly impacting Static and Hardware.
Though her time was brief, Silhouette left a lasting impact as one of the few openly lesbian superheroes in comics during her introduction, and for challenging societal norms within the Milestone Universe.
