Flatman, also known as Dr. Val Ventura, is a relatively obscure but notable character from Marvel Comics. He is a member of the Great Lakes Avengers (GLA), a team known for their ineptitude and comedic adventures.
Ventura is a mutant with the ability to flatten his body to an extreme degree, making him nearly two-dimensional. This allows him to slip under doors, become virtually invisible against walls, and be rolled up for easy transport.
Initially, Flatman perpetuated a rumor that he was also an immortal mutant, but this was later revealed to be false. He does, however, possess a genius-level intellect and a Ph.D., contributing strategic planning and scientific expertise to the often-unsuccessful GLA.
