Nomad is an alias adopted by several characters in Marvel Comics, most notably Steve Rogers, the original Captain America.
Steve Rogers first appears as Nomad in Captain America #180 (1974). Disillusioned with the American government after discovering corruption within its ranks, Rogers abandons the Captain America identity. He briefly adopts the name Nomad, seeking to operate outside established structures.
This version of Nomad is characterized by a costume consisting of a dark blue uniform with a plunging V-neck and a domino mask. He quickly realizes that he functions best with a defined purpose and soon returns to the role of Captain America.
