Johnny Sorrow is a fictional supervillain appearing in DC Comics, primarily as an enemy of the Justice Society of America (JSA). His origins trace back to the 1940s where, as a scientist, he accidentally shifted his body into an energy form during an experiment. His altered state revealed his face as so horrific that simply looking upon it induces instant death.

Forced to wear a special containment mask to prevent accidental fatalities, Sorrow initially worked with the Injustice Society before disappearing for decades. He resurfaced in modern times, manipulating events to remove his mask and unleash his lethal gaze.

Sorrow possesses immense power, including energy projection, teleportation, and the ability to possess others. His primary weapon remains his face, making him a terrifying and formidable opponent. He has been a consistent threat to the JSA, often employing cunning strategies alongside brute force.
