Inertia, also known as Thaddeus Thawne II, is a supervillain appearing in DC Comics, primarily as an adversary of the Flash family. He is a clone of Bart Allen, Impulse, created by Bart's paternal grandmother, Iris West Allen (from the future) and a scientist to be a "perfect" speedster, without Impulse's impulsive nature.

Inertia possesses all of Impulse's powers, including super-speed, accelerated healing, and the ability to steal momentum. However, he lacks Impulse's good nature and instead harbors a deep-seated hatred and envy. His goals are often centered around proving his superiority over Impulse and causing chaos and destruction.

He orchestrated events that led to Impulse becoming Kid Flash, then later manipulating events that ultimately resulted in Kid Flash's (Bart Allen's) death while in his role as the Flash. He has also been involved in several other nefarious schemes involving the manipulation of time and speed. After many defeats, he was trapped, de-aged and lobotomized by Zoom, to forever be a vegetable, a situation that was later reversed, though the outcome is yet unknown.
