Player is the customizable avatar controlled by the individual playing PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG). There isn't a defined character with a backstory, rather, "Player" represents the user's embodiment in the game world.

First appearing in the early access release of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in March 2017, Player's appearance is determined by the user through in-game customization options and purchased cosmetic items.

The primary goal while playing as Player in PUBG is to be the last person (or team) standing in a battle royale scenario against up to 99 other players. Player begins each match with minimal gear and must scavenge weapons, equipment, and vehicles to survive and eliminate opponents. Success depends heavily on skill, strategy, and a degree of luck.
