Biography:

Bartholomew "Bart" J. Simpson is a central character in the animated TV show, The Simpsons. He is the eldest son of Homer and Marge Simpson, and brother to Lisa and Maggie.

Bart is known for his rebellious attitude, pranks, and catchphrases like "Eat my shorts!" and "Ay, caramba!". He is often portrayed as a mischievous underachiever in Springfield Elementary School.

Bart's first appearance was on The Tracey Ullman Show in the short "Good Night" on April 19, 1987. This was before The Simpsons became its own half-hour prime time TV show.

The animated character is voiced by Nancy Cartwright. Bart is frequently a source of both trouble and humor in the series.
