Kai, clad in Deepstone armor, appears in the Ninjago: Possession storyline of the LEGO Ninjago TV show.
During the Possession season, the ghost of Morro possesses Lloyd Garmadon and seeks to unleash the Preeminent upon Ninjago. To combat Morro and his ghostly army, the ninja undergo training with Master Wu to learn Airjitzu. As part of this training and preparation for battling ghosts, the ninja receive Deepstone armor which is imbued with ghost-fighting properties.
Kai's Deepstone armor is primarily red, reflecting his elemental power of fire. The armor provides protection against ghostly attacks and enhances his combat abilities against the spectral threat.
