Livewire, also known as Leslie Willis, first appeared in Superman #97 (1995). Initially a shock jock in Metropolis, Willis hosted a radio show where she frequently criticized Superman.
Her transformation into Livewire occurred during a concert where she mocked Superman amidst a thunderstorm. Lightning struck the stage, channeling through Willis and altering her physiology. This granted her the ability to absorb and manipulate electricity, transforming her into a being of living energy.
As Livewire, she became a supervillain, frequently clashing with Superman. Her powers allow her to control electrical currents, project energy blasts, and even travel through power lines. Over time, Livewire's character has evolved, sometimes portrayed as an anti-hero or even an ally to Superman.
