BB-9E was a First Order astromech droid, easily distinguished by its boxy, matte-black head and red photoreceptor. Functionally similar to the Resistance's BB-8, BB-9E served as a maintenance and repair unit aboard Supreme Leader Snoke's flagship, the *Supremacy*.

Unlike the seemingly cheerful BB-8, BB-9E projected a more sinister presence. Its primary function appeared to be monitoring other droids within the First Order's machinery, ensuring optimal performance and reporting any malfunctions or insubordination.

Its distinctive sounds were often characterized as harsh and grating, further contributing to its menacing aura. While its specific activities were rarely highlighted in the Star Wars saga, BB-9E played a key role in maintaining the First Order's technological superiority.

BB-9E was last seen on the *Supremacy* prior to its destruction, and its ultimate fate remains unknown.
