David Kane, known as Black Manta, is a major antagonist within the DC Extended Universe, primarily featured in the film Aquaman (2018). He is portrayed by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Black Manta's first DCEU appearance is within that movie.

Fueled by a personal vendetta against Aquaman, Black Manta becomes a ruthless mercenary and technologically advanced foe. His motivations stem from a tragic encounter where Aquaman inadvertently caused his father's death, sparking a desire for revenge.

Black Manta utilizes advanced weaponry and a specialized diving suit, giving him enhanced abilities in underwater combat. He forms a temporary alliance with Orm Marius, Aquaman's half-brother, to achieve his goals, but ultimately his primary motivation remains enacting vengeance on Aquaman.

He's expected to return as a primary villain in future DCEU projects.
