Biography:
Ole Gunnar Solskjær is a Norwegian football manager and former player. He is best known for his time as a striker for Manchester United from 1996 to 2007.
Nicknamed the "Baby-faced Assassin" for his youthful appearance and clinical finishing, Solskjær was a prolific goalscorer, often coming off the bench to score crucial goals. He is most famously remembered for scoring the winning goal in injury time in the 1999 UEFA Champions League Final against Bayern Munich, securing United's historic treble.
After retiring from playing due to a knee injury, Solskjær transitioned into coaching. He managed Manchester United's reserve team before taking the helm at Molde FK in Norway, winning two league titles and a Norwegian Cup. He also briefly managed Cardiff City in the Premier League.
In December 2018, Solskjær returned to Manchester United as caretaker manager following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho. His initial success led to him being appointed permanent manager in March 2019. He was later sacked in November 2021 after a string of poor results.
