Aldrich Killian, portrayed by Guy Pearce, is a character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He is the main antagonist of the film Iron Man 3, which is his first appearance in the MCU.
Killian is a brilliant but physically disabled scientist who feels scorned by Tony Stark. He founded Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM), initially conceived as a think tank to develop cutting-edge technology.
Driven by bitterness and ambition, Killian perfects the Extremis virus, granting enhanced healing and abilities. He manipulates the Mandarin persona, using Trevor Slattery as a puppet, to destabilize the world and elevate his own influence. Ultimately, his plan involves exploiting Extremis for personal gain and asserting his power through fear and control.
Killian's ultimate goal is to replace Tony Stark as the dominant force, however, he is ultimately defeated by Iron Man.
