Sailor Venus, also known as Minako Aino, is a fictional character in the Sailor Moon manga and anime series created by Naoko Takeuchi. She is the civilian identity of Sailor Venus, the soldier of love and beauty, and the leader of the Inner Sailor Guardians.
Before the other Sailor Guardians awakened, Minako lived in London, England, where she fought crime as Sailor V. She was guided by the talking white cat Artemis, her constant companion and mentor. Sailor V's adventures were popular and well-known before Sailor Moon's emergence.
Upon returning to Japan, Minako joins Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) and the other Inner Guardians. Her experience as Sailor V makes her a valuable asset to the team, often demonstrating leadership qualities. She initially desires to be the leader of the Sailor Guardians until learning that Sailor Moon is destined to be.
