Atom Smasher, also known as Albert Rothstein, is a DC Comics superhero with the ability to grow to immense sizes and manipulate his atomic structure to increase his density and strength. He is the godson of the Golden Age Atom, Al Pratt, from whom he inherited his metagene.

Initially operating as Nuklon and a member of Infinity, Inc., Rothstein later adopted the Atom Smasher identity. He has a complex relationship with the Justice Society of America (JSA), serving as a member and often struggling with the ethical implications of his powers and actions.

Atom Smasher's desire to protect others is frequently complicated by his temper and willingness to cross moral boundaries. He has, at times, clashed with his JSA teammates over his methods, particularly concerning the use of lethal force. He later became a member of Black Adam's Kahndaq, further highlighting his moral ambiguity.

Throughout his history, Atom Smasher grapples with his legacy, the weight of his power, and finding the right balance between justice and retribution.
