Jar Jar Binks is a fictional character from the Space Wars saga, first appearing in Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.
He is a Gungan, a tall, amphibious humanoid native to the planet Naboo. Exiled from his underwater city of Otoh Gunga due to his clumsiness and general misfortune, he is portrayed as a well-meaning but inept individual.
Jar Jar inadvertently becomes involved in the Trade Federation's invasion of Naboo and is instrumental in guiding Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi through the planet's core. He later serves as a representative for the Gungans in a crucial alliance with the Naboo people, ultimately leading to the defeat of the Trade Federation.
