Kankichi Ryotsu, often called "Ryo-san," is the main protagonist of the long-running manga series *KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops* (Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo). He first appeared in the manga's initial publication in 1976.

Ryotsu is a middle-aged police officer known for his eccentric personality, boundless energy, and insatiable appetite for money-making schemes. Although officially a patrol officer at a small police box in Tokyo's Katsushika ward, his adventures often involve elaborate (and usually disastrous) attempts to get rich quick.

Despite his flaws, Ryotsu is ultimately a well-meaning individual with a strong sense of justice. He is often shown helping the local community and solving crimes in his own unique and often unorthodox ways. The series relies heavily on slapstick humor and cultural references, with Ryotsu's larger-than-life personality at the center of it all. He is known for his distinctive thick eyebrows and a short, stocky build.
