Doctor Alchemy is the alias used by several villains in DC Comics, primarily associated with the Flash. The most well-known Doctor Alchemy is Albert Desmond.
Desmond, a chemist with a split personality, initially used his scientific knowledge to commit petty crimes. His other, more ruthless personality, would take control, leading to more dangerous acts.
Albert discovered the Philosopher's Stone, which granted him the ability to transmute elements. This allowed him to transform objects into different materials, turning lead into gold, oxygen into poison gas, and so on.
As Doctor Alchemy, Desmond used the Stone for criminal gain, often clashing with the Flash. He was eventually apprehended, but the Doctor Alchemy persona and the Philosopher's Stone would reappear with other individuals taking up the mantle.
Other characters who have used the Doctor Alchemy name include Curtis Engstrom and Alexander Petrov.
