Skyman is a DC Comics superhero, primarily associated with the New Guardians and later, the Doom Patrol. The original Skyman was Douglas Mcintosh, a pilot and former test subject of Project Cadmus, a genetic engineering organization. Cadmus genetically altered him, granting him superhuman strength, flight, and enhanced senses.

Mcintosh debuted in Millennium #2 (1988) as a member of the New Guardians, a team of heroes selected to represent different cultures. He was portrayed as a strong and idealistic hero, dedicated to protecting the innocent. Sadly, his time with the New Guardians ended when he was killed by a Manhunter during the event.

A second Skyman, a robot modeled after the original, was later introduced. This Skyman was utilized by Lex Luthor's LexCorp, initially appearing as a patriotic hero but eventually becoming a more sinister force. He has reappeared periodically, often as an antagonist.

Beyond these two main incarnations, there have been brief instances of others taking on the Skyman mantle, although these occurrences are less significant to the character's overall history.
