Black Orchid is a DC Comics character with a complex and mysterious history, often associated with the supernatural and espionage. Later interpretations revealed a far more profound origin. She is not a single person, but rather a plant-human hybrid created by Dr. Martin Stein (one half of Firestorm) and Dr. Pamela Isley (Poison Ivy). This version establishes her as an agent of the Green, the elemental force connecting all plant life, similar to Swamp Thing's connection to the Green.
