Hiro Hamada is the protagonist of Disney's Big Hero 6, first appearing in the 2014 animated movie of the same name.
A prodigious robotics genius, Hiro lives in the futuristic city of San Fransokyo. Initially, he uses his skills for bot fighting, but his older brother Tadashi encourages him to apply to the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.
Tragedy strikes when Tadashi dies in an explosion. Hiro is devastated but finds a connection to his brother through Baymax, a healthcare companion robot Tadashi created. Hiro, along with Baymax and Tadashi's friends, forms the superhero team, Big Hero 6, to combat a masked villain.
He upgrades Baymax with armor and weaponry, utilizing his robotics expertise. Throughout the movie, Hiro matures and learns the importance of teamwork and using his intellect for good.
