Biography:
Uncle Albert, full name Albert Gladstone Trotter, is a fictional character from the British sitcom Only Fools and Horses.
He first appeared in the episode "Homesick" (1985) of the show's fourth series. He is Rodney Trotter's and Del Boy's great-uncle, becoming a permanent fixture in their lives after the death of their Grandad.
Played by Buster Merryfield, Uncle Albert is a retired Royal Navy veteran, often reminiscing about his wartime experiences, usually starting with the phrase "During the war...". These stories, though often exaggerated or fabricated, become a running joke throughout the series.
His catchphrase, "During the war...", and his tendency to cause accidental mishaps added to the comedic dynamic of the Trotter household.
