Jerry Smith is a fictional character from the animated TV show Rick and Morty. He first appears in the pilot episode, "Pilot," which aired on December 2, 2013.

Jerry is the often insecure and generally hapless father of Morty and Summer Smith, and the husband (and later ex-husband, then husband again) of Beth Smith. He is frequently portrayed as intellectually inferior to his father-in-law, Rick Sanchez, and is a common target of Rick's derision.

Throughout the series, Jerry struggles with his self-esteem and often makes poor decisions. His relationship with Beth is volatile, stemming from Jerry's perceived lack of ambition and Beth's resentment of his perceived shortcomings. Despite his flaws, Jerry occasionally demonstrates moments of genuine care for his family, though these moments are often overshadowed by his ineptitude.
