The Huntress, as portrayed by Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the 2020 film "Birds of Prey," is Helena Bertinelli, a vigilante operating in Gotham City.
After witnessing the brutal murder of her family as a child, orchestrated by the Bertinelli crime family itself, Helena was raised and trained by assassins. This instilled in her a ruthless and efficient fighting style, making her a formidable force against Gotham's criminal underworld.
Unlike some of Gotham's other vigilantes, Huntress initially exhibits little restraint, often resorting to lethal methods. Her path crosses with Harley Quinn, Black Canary, and Renee Montoya as they unite against a common enemy, Roman Sionis (Black Mask). Through these interactions, she begins to find a sense of purpose beyond revenge and starts to learn about teamwork.
