Biography:
Bombur is one of the thirteen dwarves who accompany Bilbo Baggins on the Quest of Erebor in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. He is a descendant of the dwarves of Khazad-dûm, though not of Durin's line.
Bombur is primarily known for his large size and propensity for sleep. He is the brother of Bifur and the cousin of Bofur. While not as prominent as other dwarves like Thorin or Balin, Bombur's physical strength is a valuable asset to the company.
A notable incident occurs in Mirkwood when Bombur falls into the Enchanted River and succumbs to a magical sleep. He requires constant carrying for several days, a significant burden for the other dwarves. This highlights both his vulnerability and the fellowship's commitment to each other.
After the reclaiming of Erebor, Bombur remains in the Lonely Mountain. Presumably, he lives comfortably for the rest of his life on a share of the dragon’s treasure. He is a loyal, if somewhat clumsy, member of Thorin's company.
