Count Vertigo, born Werner Zytle, is a DC Comics supervillain, primarily known as an adversary of Green Arrow. He inherited a rare genetic defect that disrupts his sense of balance, causing him constant nausea and dizziness.
His grandfather, a scientist, developed a device to counteract this condition, granting Werner control over his vertigo. Werner then weaponized this technology, creating a device that can induce vertigo in others, projecting disorienting waves to manipulate their equilibrium and perception.
Adopting the title Count Vertigo, he styled himself as a nobleman from the fictional European country of Vlatava, often claiming lineage and seeking to restore his family's power. He has a penchant for elaborate schemes and often works as a mercenary or assassin.
