Captain Marvel, also known as Mar-Vell, is a character from Marvel Comics. He is a Kree alien who was initially sent to Earth as a spy.
Mar-Vell's first appearance was in Marvel Super-Heroes #12 (December 1967). He was sent to assess the planet's threat level to the Kree Empire.
