El Chapulín Colorado, created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños (Chespirito), is a beloved Mexican television character. He debuted in 1973 and became a cultural icon throughout Latin America and beyond.

Chapulín Colorado is a well-intentioned but clumsy superhero. His name translates to "The Red Grasshopper." He's known for his red suit, heart-shaped shield (the "Corazón de Chapulín"), and antennas that detect danger. He uses catchphrases like "¡No contaban con mi astucia!" ("They didn't count on my cleverness!") and frequently says he acts "with malice aforethought."

Despite his good intentions, El Chapulín is often cowardly and makes mistakes. His superpowers are limited and more humorous than effective. These include shrinking pills ("pastillas de chiquitolina"), a "chipote chillón" (a padded hammer), and "antennas of detecting danger."
