Ghost, also known as Ava Starr, is a Marvel Comics character brought to life in the film Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018). Her father, Elihas Starr, was a former colleague of Hank Pym who died during a quantum experiment, leaving Ava imbued with unstable molecules, granting her the ability to phase through solid objects.

This power, however, causes Ava chronic pain and molecular instability. She is recruited by Bill Foster, another former Pym colleague, who attempts to stabilize her condition using quantum energy. This puts her into conflict with Ant-Man and the Wasp, who possess the technology needed to help her but are also trying to prevent her from causing further destruction.

Driven by desperation and the threat of her impending death, Ghost is portrayed as both a villain and a victim. While her methods are often destructive, her motivations stem from a desire to alleviate her suffering and survive. At the end of the film, she is partially stabilized using quantum energy from the Quantum Realm, though her long-term fate remains uncertain.
