Ghost, portrayed by Hannah John-Kamen, is a significant antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018). Her first MCU appearance is indeed in this movie.
Born Ava Starr, she is the daughter of Elihas Starr, a former partner of Hank Pym. An accident involving one of Elihas's experiments granted Ava the ability to become intangible, or "phase," but also left her in a state of chronic molecular instability.
This phasing ability, while powerful, causes her excruciating pain and threatens her very existence. She desperately seeks a cure, believing that Hank Pym's technology can stabilize her condition. Her efforts to achieve this goal put her in direct conflict with Ant-Man and the Wasp.
