Athena, also known as Saori Kido, is a central figure in the Saint Seiya anime series, also known as Knights of the Zodiac.

She is the reincarnation of the Greek goddess Athena, tasked with protecting Earth from various threats. Saori Kido initially appears as a young woman unaware of her divine heritage, raised by Mitsumasa Kido.

Her destiny is revealed as she guides the Bronze Saints, a group of warriors dedicated to protecting her, through numerous battles against opposing gods and their armies.
