General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross is a recurring character in Marvel Comics, known for his military career and obsession with capturing the Hulk.
First appearing in The Incredible Hulk #1 (May 1962), Ross, a United States Army General, dedicates himself to stopping the Hulk, whom he sees as a menace. His daughter, Betty Ross, is often caught between her father's mission and her love for Bruce Banner.
Ross's obsession leads him down increasingly extreme paths, including his own transformation into the Red Hulk. His motivations stem from a desire to protect America and a deep-seated anger towards Banner and the Hulk.
