Born a mutant, Vanessa initially worked as a prostitute and mercenary, crossing paths with Wade Wilson, who would later become Deadpool. Their relationship was tumultuous and ultimately ended due to Wade's fear of her proximity to his cancer when he received it.
Copycat has worked for various organizations, including the Weapon X program. Often manipulated and exploited, she frequently found herself embroiled in conflicts against X-Force and other mutant teams.
