Firestar, whose real name is Angelica Jones, is a Marvel Comics character known for her mutant ability to generate and control microwave radiation. She first appeared in the animated TV series Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends in 1981.
In the cartoon, she was a founding member of the Spider-Friends alongside Spider-Man and Iceman. Her powers allowed her to project intense heat and flames, as well as fly by heating the air around her. She was voiced by Kathy Garver in the show.
While initially created for animation, Firestar was later introduced into the mainstream Marvel comic book universe and integrated into teams like the New Warriors and the Avengers. She became a popular character due to her television debut and her fiery powers.
