Biography:

Surge, also known as Noriko Ashida, is a mutant character from Marvel Comics. She first appeared in New Mutants (Vol. 2) #8 in 2004.

Noriko possesses the mutant ability to absorb electricity. However, her powers are uncontrollable without the use of specialized gauntlets. These gauntlets channel and regulate the excess electrical energy that constantly courses through her body.

Originally from Japan, Surge was a member of the New Mutants squad at the Xavier Institute. She is often portrayed as headstrong and independent, with a complex and sometimes difficult personality.
