Lor San Tekka is a character in the Star Wars universe, first appearing in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.
He is an explorer and a member of the Church of the Force, a group that reveres the Jedi Order and the Force. Tekka dedicated his life to searching for Jedi artifacts and knowledge.
Prior to the events of The Force Awakens, Tekka aided Luke Skywalker in his quest to learn more about the Jedi and their history. He eventually obtained a piece of a map leading to Skywalker's location, which he then entrusted to Poe Dameron.
His role in The Force Awakens is brief but crucial, as his possession of the map fragment sets the events of the film in motion when he is confronted by the First Order led by Kylo Ren, who seeks the map for Supreme Leader Snoke.
