Magneto, also known as Erik Lehnsherr, is a powerful mutant character from Marvel Comics, first appearing in The X-Men #1 (September 1963).

He possesses the ability to control and manipulate magnetic fields. A Holocaust survivor, Magneto views mutants as the next stage in human evolution and believes they should rule over humanity, a stance often putting him at odds with the X-Men, particularly his former friend, Charles Xavier.
